First, a bit of history.
A bit farther south of the Honnen region lies a group of islands. Nicknamed the Lunym Islands because of the large, crescent moon shaped isle that made up the center of them, there was naught but ruins from ancient civilizations long past that might prove any human activity, as one might think.
The warm weather and new flora and Pokemon species made the island an instant tourist attraction; people flocked from the other regions to the islands. Towns were built; civilization born. The area was relatively peaceful, and mankind was pleased.
But one day... Scientists who lived in the area began to notice that the local wild Pokemon were acting strangely. Upon capturing one and performing an extensive study, they found nothing was physically wrong with it. They released it back into the wild, figuring the Pokemon they had seen just had quirky personalities.
It was then it began happening. The second largest island, Hologen, was overtaken one night by Pokemon whom were more then willing to cause harm to any human or tame Pokemon to cross their path.
These Pokemon, somehow genetically darkened in color on the night of the new moon, their pupils dimmed to the point where they were barely visible, and went about attacking with fangs or claws. There was a tale that whoever was wounded by these Pokemon would instantly die.
Though the next morning, they acted as if nothing had happened. The survivors of the blood bath that night fled the island, leaving it's ruins to the "Nightmare Walkers" or "Were-Pokemon".
Hence, the island was corrupted and abandoned.
The Pokemon began to spread through some of the other islands, though the more stubborn people refused to leave their homes while the meek fled at once.
Though on the night of the full moon, if a Pokemon stands on what one may assume to be an ancient temple dedicated to the Moon Goddess Cresslia, the Pokemon will be released from it's curse. As well, those of pure heart wounded by the Were-Pokemon will receive pity of the goddess, and will be brought back to life, as if simply awakening from a long slumber.
....
Today, a new team has arisen, a team that feels the need to try and control these Pokemon for their own bidding. Having captured the ringleader, Darkrai, already, they are now after Cresslia.
Having the two faces of the moon, their power would be enough to corrupt the Pokemon for good.
Cresslia has fled, fearing the impending apocalypse that may occur to interrupt the relatively peaceful lifestyle of the island, though the band of rouges, who call themselves Team Eclipse, are hot on her trail.
Will the islands (and the world) be saved before it becomes too late?
